Q: Is my site optimised for the search engines and will it appear at the top of the search engines?

A:Your website receives on-page optimisation for your most important keywords. Typically this will be connected with the local area in which you are based. For example, an accountant in Milton Keynes will often want to be found for searches such as "accountants in milton keynes", "milton keynes accountant", etc. For your home page we do all the relevant on-page optimisation - title tags, meta tags, heading tags, keyword density, etc. If the keywords are not competitive, this by itself may get you to the top, However, never believe anyone who guarantees you first page results just by doing this or doesn't tell you about the other half of search engine optimisation. If the keywords are competitive you will also need off page optimisation. This is about getting good quality links from other sites to your own site and involves asking other sites to add a link on their site to yours. We give you all the information you need to be able to do this correctly for yourself as well as a list of over 100 sites that we know you can have a link to your site added onto.

Q: Can I upgrade from a template website to a bespoke website at any time?

A: Yes! All we would say is that the build process is entirely different and we have to start from the beginning again in providing a bespoke site, so if you intend to have the template site for less than 6 months, please talk to us first.

Q: How long does it take to get our website live?

A: For the template websites a realistic timeframe is about 3 days if you respond to any questions we have quickly.

Q: I'm locked into a contract with my present provider. Is there anything you can do?

A: Unlike most other providers we will not lock you into a contract as we believe you should be entitled to go elsewhere if what we offer isn't the best solution for you. To help you overcome the tie-in with your present supplier, we can build your site and make it live and we won't ask you for payment until the contract with your present supplier expires. You just continue paying them instead during this period. Thereafter, you simply have to keep your site with us for a minimum period equal to the period of free service provided by us. If doing this, please just supply evidence of your present contract when ordering.

Q: I want a template site with a few extra bits from your bespoke sites package - can you help?

A: Yes. Please just talk to us about what you want and we'll give you a special package price - we're nice like that!

Q: Is it really as easy as you make out to get a website?

A: Yes. Our webDesign form takes you easily through the whole process. However, if you get confused, need any help or just don't like filling in forms, just give us a call and we'll do the complete order on the phone, talking you through what you want and often in under 15 minutes. And don't forget, we pay for the call! You'll just need to pop payment in the post and let us have any detailed changes that we've agreed you would want to get a site suitable for you.

Q: Why are the costs so low and with no up front fee?

A: You will appreciate we have already pre-written a lot of the content. Having said that, there is still a considerable amount of effort required on our part to get your site up and running as you want it with your own bespoke look and required changes.

However, we don't believe in large set up fees or tie in periods. If what we provide is outstanding, you'll stay and if not, you're perfectly entitled to take your money elsewhere.

In addition we operate on a remote basis by phone and email without the overheads of a large sales force. But don't be fooled, we have lots of great design skills and content and tools that you just can't get elsewhere.

Q: Do you provide websites for a one-off set up fee?

A: No. Providing a service on this basis only leads to you paying your money and then being left with a website rotting and not updated when it needs to be. Often they are an embarrassment. We've seen sites with tax rates 5 years out of date, broken links, etc. Such sites can only be brochure sites with links to other peoples sites to get the information. Do you want to be saying to prospects and clients that you don't have the information but there's another accountant who does? That's effectively what you're doing with a brochure site.

A progressive content rich fully maintained site is better off with a monthly payment to get you the site you want.

Q: Why should I use you rather than our present web designer?

A: Our team includes accountants and leading tax writers as well as some of the best web developers and graphic designers around. Your present web designer may in some cases also be able to produce a great looking site but it's also content that counts. Unless you are going to invest vast amounts of time personally to provide the content similar to all the resources in our websites they won't be able to provide you with such a content rich site. We also have systems that update your site on a regular basis. If you wish to use your own web designer but have some of our content added to your site our Resource Only Section is ideal for that.

Q: Are your sites fully compliant with web standards?

A: Yes. Our sites have been built with strict HTML and are styled with CSS to separate the content from the design. This also provides for better accessibility for the disabled. We specifically avoid the use of tables for design purposes. This is the way of the future for web design and provides for faster loading pages and better search engine rankings. Q: What size practice are the sites aimed at?

A: The template sites are aimed at the smaller practices, primarily sole practitioners.
