FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions About Our Resources

Most questions are answered elsewhere on this site but the following deals with the more common remaining questions...

Q: Who writes the content?

A: The content is written by Chartered Accountants and leading tax writers and is kept up to date automatically for you at all times.

Q: Will the resources look like they are part of my website?

A: Yes. We use a css stylesheet to allow us to change individual items to get the same look as on your website - font type, size, colour, link colours, heading styles, etc. The only noticeable difference will be that on some pages where the content of our page is larger than the height of your IFRAME, you will get an extra vertical scroll bar appear for users to use.

Q: My web design knowledge is quite basic. Will I be able to do this?

A: Yes! It is simply a case of adding some code that we give you to a web page and you will be given clear instructions. However, if you do get stuck just give us a call, we'll help you do it.

Q: Can I change the size of the IFRAME?

A: Yes. You have compelte control over the size of the IFRAME. You will just need to be aware that if you make it too small you may get additional scroll bars appearing more often.

Q: I want some of the content but not all of it and want to organise it differently on my website, is that possible?

A: Yes. At the simplest level you can just tell us which pages you don't want and we will turn them off so they don't appear in your website. However, let us say that rather than having a section on your website called "Tax Centre" you want to a page on your navigation called "Tax Rates and Allowances" that links direct to that page, you can use the address of the individual page to create a new page with it's own IFRAME in it that just calls the tax rates and allowances page. You can pretty much organise it however you want like this, it just takes a bit more time to set up as you need to add some relevant IFRAME code to each page.

Q: On your bespoke Demo sites some items such as the Special Reports work with a login system. How does this work on our own website?

A: It's important to appreciate that the IFRAME content that sits on our server is not technically part of your website. Therefore, if for example you do the simple set-up of installing the whole of the Tax Centre on one page there is no login system that prevents access to any part of it. If you want a login system you need to get your own web designers to build this and then set-up separate pages on your own website that you wish to be protected by the login system and just put the IFRAME code for the part you want protected into that page, as in the previous question. So in summary, it can be done but as it involves work on your own website, you need to involve your own web designers. Alternatively order a bespoke website and it is pre-built with a login system as standard.
